Recommended Reading: Coaching Young Women

I don’t have much spare time in my life, but I always make room for coaching young women in their careers (I don’t exclude young men, I just happen to be asked more by young women). In today’s virtual world, developing mentoring relationships can be challenging. Here are two articles I always share:

How to Network in the Age of Remote Work

How Remote Workers Make Work Friends

I also discuss the importance of strong, long-term relationships with colleagues. I was fortunate to work with a group of incredible women from 1992 to 1994, up until the point our firm was purchased and three of us were laid off. We began to meet for dinner in April of 1994, with the goal of creating a business together; we called ourselves “The Board.” The business never happened but the dinners continue (approximately five times per year) and the friendships will endure forever. Here’s a recent photo of “The Board.”
